Garry Andrews diverse experience is largely accumulated from many freelancing contracts to businesses, corporations and community organisations. He has also worked as a muralist for corporate and community projects in SYDNEY - when working with Public Art Squad on the Harbourside, Darling Harbour project; BRISBANE - where he designed and painted the 200 metre mural for the ABC Greentrain, mural for the Brisbane City Council and Chermside Library which involved students from Sandgate High School, and CAIRNS where he produced site specific murals for Cairns Port Authority-International Airport, Cairns Regional Gallery and businesses such as the Pacific International Hotel.
Garry was also a teacher with the Tropical North Queensland Institute of Tafe-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander program between 1983-86 and 1991, where he was also a curriculum writer and served on the Education Committee for the new ATSI art course (See "The Art Centre" Blog). He was involved in community cultural development since 1985 when he was a director of the Alfed St. Arts Centre at Manunda. In 1992-93 when he was the key stakeholder, first chairman and founder of KICKARTS inc. (now KICKARTS CONTEMPORARY ARTS LTD). Garry also served as Artist on the Cairns Regional Gallery Interim Advisory Committee. He was engaged as Tutor in Digital Imaging for McGregor Summer School, U.S.Q. Toowoomba 2010 and has delivered training and assessment for RTO's including Australia International College of Art (Cert IV Photoimaging, Diploma of Graphic Design-Film and Video programs) and Veritas Training Group (Cert III Customer Contact).
Garry is an accomplished visual artist who has held over 60 solo and curated group exhibitions.
He has won over 40 Art Prizes and and Awards his work is held in important collections including:

Garry's artwork was included in Nevill Drury's "New Art Seven-Profiles in Australian Contemporary Art", Craftsmans House Press 1991, and featured in numerous journal articles such as- Eyeline, Issue n.14 Autumn 1991 p.37, and various metro and regional newspaper articles.
"Images of an Era", authored by Dr.Anneke Silver was published by P.T.R.G. in 2016 to celebrate the landmark exhibition of the same name held at the Perc Tucker Regional Gallery, Townsville, that same year. Garry's work was inclded in the Exhibition, catalogue and accompanying video.
